About me.
I don't have a particularly talented nose, but I love using it. Stopping in front of honeysuckles and inhaling the beauty. Closing my eyes and trying to pick out the different scents in the city landscape.
My name is Anna Terp, and L'Odorant is my project.
My kindergarten teacher, Elisabeth, wore "Arpège" by Lanvin. Its flowery, powdery scent enchanted me as I learned to read and write. It may have set me on this path long before I realized it.
Years later, in addition to my second year in comparative literature studies, I went every week to the Osmothèque in Versailles to assist lectures on the history of perfume as a volunteer. I particularly remember a reproduction of an ancient Egyptian perfume; rich, spicy and honeyed.
I dedicated my master's degree in cultural studies entirely to odors, more specifically the socio-cultural dimension of odors. For my thesis, I asked myself how smells can be used thoughtfully within the museum institution?
After having had rich professional experiences in the organization of cultural events and the creation and conduct of tours and workshops, within institutions such as the Louis Vuitton Foundation, the Louvre Museum and the Swiss Cultural Center, I invite you to follow me on a journey into the olfactory universe.
